Hump Day!!

Happy Hump Day!!!  Michele, from Stuff by Belle here today to share a little hump day inspiration.
Usually I do most of my crafting on the weekends but lately I have found that a quick project during the week is a HUGE stress reliever and I have been making cards because well...you can never have too many cards!!

I made 2 of the same card the other day for a couple of reasons.  ONE, because a crafty friend of mine always makes duplicates and I always think that is such a great idea but never remember to do it and TWO, because I had so much fun inking up the background on this one.

I can't decide if I want to put a sentiment on the front or not...maybe I will leave it alone and wait to see what the occasion is that requires this card, what do you think???

I used distress ink in shabby shutter, antique linen and walnut stain for the background.  Stamped my handwriting background stamp from VLVS! on half in archival ink and then the big flowers, I think they look like Queen Anne's Lace, is from Unity and is stamped in archival ink also.
May Art burlap twine and a Tim Holtz button finish off this simple card.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you are so inspired make sure to check out our March drills...you still have a couple of days to get linked up to win a fabulous prize.

Special Ops:3 Dimensional Peacock

During Christmas Vacation I developed this Peacock. It was one of those days I woke up ready to craft and just couldn't get my ideas translated into paper fast enough. With a little help from my aunt and my brother I was able to complete this sparkly bird. These instructions are made specifically for Kreaxions Punch #905 (found here). If you will be using a different border/corner punch system be sure to have extra paper for adapting the instructions.

Body
Protractor
4 inch (circle green)
border/corner punch

Place center mark of the protractor at the edge of the circle.
Mark at 50, 70, 90, 110, and 130 degrees; draw lines.

Center punch on each line.
Trim areas between punch marks to resemble feathers.

Wings
4 inch circle
border/corner punch

Divide circle into 8 sections, center punch on each line.

Trim resulting "doily" in half and then lay against body
to get the correct angle for the wings.

Roll body/wings on a vitamin bottle to get curved shape.

Tail
10 strips of each color (1"x 6") with ends punched.

Roll each strip length wise on a pencil to get curved shape.

Attach tail feathers in staggered rows.

Neck and Head

1.25 inch circle (green)
4 inch circle (blue)
2 scalloped corners (blue)

Cut 1" off the circle, wrap into cone shape, pinch the cone to make it narrow.

Match scalloped punched corners so that colored sides are out.
Fold small circle in half and adhere scallopes inside.
Attach circle to small opening of the cone, trimming to achieve desired angle.
Cut slit in neck, 1 inch from the large opening, for tail placement.

Check my blog Scrappin' Chaos for a list of supplies used and peacocks in other color schemes.

Hump Day

Hello All Lanette Here!

I just wanted to stop in and share a quick Art Journal Page that I created for Practical Scrappers. Each month we are given a theme and or challenge, this month we were asked to include a collage element along with our "Luck Me" theme.

For me I thought of how I need to always remember how lucky I am. It's so easy to be distracted by the "what ifs" &" if only's" I wanted to create a page focused on how truly lucky I am.

I started by creating a collage background using scraps of green paper, I filled in the cracks with paint. I added a few green journaling stickers from Kaisercraft and lots of fun snapshots of my family. Everything fell into place after I added some random stamps and my quote.

Just a few details for fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Please make sure you stop by Practical Scrappers to see what the other ladies created!

Hump Day!!

Michele, with Stuff By Belle here today to share some hump day inspiration.

Usually between Valentine's Day and Easter I work on building up my birthday card stash.  Today I would like to share a card and a tag for just such an occasion.

This card was made with a kraft card base and some scraps of paper from my stash.  I stamped the Tim Holtz blueprints stamp with archival in on Ranger watercolor paper.  I used a water brush and my Distress markers to watercolor the image.

This tag is made with  G45 tag base.  I added some seed beads to the cupcake for 'sprinkles'.

Well I better get back to work, I have a 10 card goal to meet...thanks for spending part of your day with us today and make sure you check back Saturday for our next drill!!

Basic Training

Michele from Stuff by Belle here today and I am going to share a technique I just recently learned from stamping phenom Hermine over at Viva Las Vegastamps!

You only need a few things to create a beautiful stamped image that looks like it was watercolored.

A base (I choose a tag), a stamp (I chose a harlequin background stamp from VLVS!), water color crayons and a spray bottle.

Select the colors you would like to use.  You can use as few or as many as your creativity demands.

Color your stamp.  I just randomly laid the different colors wherever my heart desired.

Spray some water directly on the stamp where you colored.  Now I would recommend a couple of practice stamps so you can get the feel for how much water to spray.  Too little and you won't get an even stamp and too much and you will have a drippy mess...

This is what my stamp looked like after I sprayed my water.

Press evenly on your base.

And viola!  I like to dry right away with my heat gun so I don't have drips.

I finished my tag off with a couple more stamped images, all from VLVS!.  Party hat, stars, and whimsical owl.  I did some additional water color painting using my distress markers and a watercolor pen.

Some burlap twine, May Arts chevron ribbon, UmWow Studio everyday speech bubble chip and flair from the yellow and grey set and a sentiment stamp from the Tim Holtz hashtag stamp set.

I hope I have inspired you to try some watercolor stamping!  Please share a link to your creation in the comments, I would love to see it!!

Until next month...
